Next meeting July 21st, 2009

Come join this DACS SIG where we will discuss things to consider when creating a site. Whether you are a beginner, or a code-warrior, there will be something to learn. Demonstrating WYSIWYG software, and discussing the different programs available will help you determine your preference. Each meeting can tackle topics such as web page usability, browser constraints, site promotion, interactivity, Flash (pro’s & con’s), image optimizing, and anything that relates to good design. If you have questions or suggestions for future meeting subject, please bring them.

A presentation on the "subject of the month" will start the meeting, then a discussion will help us get a better understanding of each aspect of good design and production techniques.

This SIG deals primarily with the "front-end" development of a simple web site, but experts of the "back-end" side - coding, database integration etc. - can also pick up some helpful hints and learn to develop their artistic side - making for a powerful combination of "front-end" and "back-end" expertise.

Bring your questions and concerns. In an interactive setting, we will make sense of the steps needed and how to avoid the pitfalls involved in web page creation, both from the design perspective as well as from dealing with technical constraints.

This SIG will meet 7pm - 9pm, once a month, at the DACS resources center in Danbury, on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.
